  • Equity Harvesting – Overcoming Challenges & Identifying Opportunities.

    One of the key lessons familiar to property investors is to harvest equity on a regular basis. With recent changes in lending policy, it is more important than ever for your portfolio to be reviewed annually and harvesting opportunities actioned.

    Harvested equity means available cash. The funds harvested from a property can be placed in re-draw, offset account or line of credit for access when required. The most commonly asked question when harvesting equity is “How much should I harvest”?

    We know that harvesting too much can impact your overall serviceability but too little means going back to the bank and possibly running short in terms of your minimum buffer. Depending on whether you are in accumulation, holding or drawdown stage will also determine how much you need to harvest.
